Grow

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him  be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

We want you to GROW in relationships and the Word

Growth groups: Our growth groups of 12-15 individuals are designed for you  to be in relationship with other believers. Jesus spent most of his ministry  with a small group of men and women. They are a great opportunity to  learn to study the Bible together, pray for one another, eat with one  another, and care for each other. Sometimes the group size makes it difficult  to be transparent with others.

We want you to GROW as a servant

Matthew 20:28 “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,  and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

One of the best ways to grow as a disciple is to serve others. This is what Jesus did  and he wants us to do the same. He gave each of us spiritual gifts for service. When we use our  gifts to serve each other, we grow as disciples, and the church matures and grows  stronger. The best way to discover your gift is to begin serving. God will give you  direction and others will affirm your spiritual gift in service.

We want you to GROW as a generous giver

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not  reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

Jesus spoke about a lot of things in his three years of public ministry. One of the  topics that he spoke about the most was money. Jesus never asked for money,  nor did he need any money, but he realized that money could become an idol for  his followers. Sometimes we don’t grow because we spend all our time and  resources on earthly things. Following Jesus requires us to rethink and prioritize  our time, talents, and treasures. When we are generous with these things, we are  becoming more like Jesus. At Vista, we believe your generous gifts are between you and Jesus. The pastors  and elders never know what anyone gives, but we will always teach that a growing  disciple is a generous giver.
