The Present Work of Christ – A Short Summary

Jesus Christ, our risen Lord, is now seated at the right hand of God as our eternal High Priest and intercessor. Having offered Himself once for all as the perfect and final sacrifice for sin, He has fulfilled what the old covenant sacrificial system, including the Day of Atonement, could only foreshadow.

Now, He intercedes continually for us (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25), advocates on our behalf before the Father (1 John 2:1), and has opened a new and living way into God’s holy presence through His blood. In Him, we have bold access, a cleansed conscience, and full assurance of faith. His work is not finished—it continues in heaven as He ministers grace, mercy, and help to His people (Hebrews 4:14–16).
